Alexis Fintland

Alexis Fintland is an Associate Policy Analyst with MPI’s National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy, where she supports research on workforce training, language access, adult education, and equity issues. She also provides administrative and logistical support for the Center’s team members, events, and projects.

Prior to joining MPI, Ms. Fintland interned for Representative Adam B. Schiff, Senator Kamala D. Harris, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. As an undergraduate, she worked as a Research Fellow at The Worker Institute and a Migration Scholar at Cornell’s Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies.

Ms. Fintland holds a bachelor of science in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University. She graduated with honors and was recognized for her award-winning thesis, which focused on migrant worker precarity and immigration status throughout COVID-19.

Shortages of workers continue to plague early childhood education and care (ECEC) systems across the United States. With the field already struggling to effectively serve young children in families that speak languages other than English, apprenticeship programs offer a promising solution to bring more—and more multilingual—workers into early childhood careers.
