Centralizing Translation Across Agencies Through Computer Assisted Translation (CAT)
State and local jurisdictions may seek to use a computer assisted translation (CAT) tool to support their translation capacity as they work to provide access to key services and information to residents who speak a language other than English. In this Practitioner's Corner, the city of Seattle's Language Access Program and Policy Specialist discusses the use of CAT as the local government centralized its language access program during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NCIIP and the Annie E. Casey Foundation hosted a unique, one-day convening on language access to assist federal agencies in the development and implementation of language access plans. The convening brought together federal agency officials and language access managers from community organizations and state and local government to discuss promising approaches to devising, implementing, and monitoring language access services.
