Florian Tissot
Dr. Florian Tissot is a Researcher at the Research Centre on Migration, Integration, and Asylum within the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), where he coauthored an evaluation of Germany’s Neustart im Team (New Start in a Team, or NesT) community sponsorship program.
He obtained his PhD in migration studies from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in collaboration with the Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany, with a dissertation on highly skilled migrants’ patterns of coordination between family life and career in the context of repeated migration in Switzerland and Germany. While completing his dissertation, he taught at the University of Neuchâtel within the migration and citizenship master’s programme and worked as a research fellow at the Swiss Forum for Migration and Population Studies.
Dr. Tissot also holds a master’s degree in migration studies at the University of Neuchâtel and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, management studies, and the sociology of religion at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
