Max Nathan

Max Nathan is a Deputy Director of the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth, and a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR).

Dr. Nathan has more than 12 years’ experience working in UK think tanks, consultancy, and public policy. Most recently he worked at the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) as an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)-DCLG Senior Policy Adviser, covering a range of economic development and governance issues.

Skilled migrants can play critical roles in economic development in high-tech clusters, but policies sometimes make it difficult for firms to make the most of immigration.
