Michael J. White

Michael J. White is a Professor in the Sociology Department at Brown University. He joined the Sociology Department and the PSTC at Brown University in 1989, after previously holding positions at Princeton University and the Urban Institute. He has also been a fellow of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington D.C.

China and India are major players in international migration. Both countries have very large populations that will continue to grow in the coming years. The available pool of potential migrants from China and India will remain high although population size and density (known as demographic variability) will change from year to year in both countries.
