The World of Migration

The World of Migration

Since MPI’s founding in 2001, much has changed in the world of migration and integration policy. Among other developments, societies have become more polarized, with immigration often used as a wedge issue; migration management has become more complex amid a rise in mixed flows; 9/11 and other terrorist attacks shifted the immigration frame to an overwhelming national security focus; humanitarian protection needs have reached record levels; and climate change has emerging as a growing consideration in relation to human movement. What do leading migration scholars have to say about these and other developments? This podcast, launched in connection with MPI's 20th Anniversary, explores these and other issues with top thinkers in the field, from MPI and beyond.
